We are halfway into January and all I can think about is holding on to that Christmas cheer for just a few seconds more! A super fun part of our holiday that you can carry throughout the year? These DIY Cocoa Bombs that I whipped up using the Instant Pot as a double broiler!
As you probably noticed, Cocoa Bombs are all the rage this Fall/Winter season and became an exciting project to do alone or for families to tackle while we continue to spend time together at home. You’ll see little hands enjoying putting lots of treats inside these bombs.
The process was super simple and made for lots of fun. The great thing is that these can be made all throughout the cooler seasons! So the enjoyment can last as the designs and treats change! Watch video for all the steps! See below for the recipe!
Things you’ll need:
- Instant Pot (to use as double broiler)
- Instant Brands Silicone Egg Mold
- Stainless steel bowl
- 1 large bag chocolate chips
- Cocoa Powder or Hot Cocoa Mix
- Marshmallows
- Sprinkles (optional)
- Chocolate melts in favorite color (for drizzle)
Directions:
Bring your water to a boil in the Instant Pot by turning to a high Sauté. Place large stainless steel bowl on top (my bowl was smaller so I improvised with foil— a large bowl will eliminate the need for foil). Pour in chocolate chips and stir until melted well. Coat each egg mold with the chocolate using a spoon and leaving the center open. Freeze until hardened, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from freezer and fill with your favorite treats like marshmallow, the cocoa mix and sprinkles. at this point you can top with chocolate to “seal” and freeze to harden then remove from mold to decorate. OR you can use a separate egg mold and coat with chocolate to make the “ball/egg” shape. Coat the edges with melted chocolate, press together and allow to harden!
Happy bombing!
