For many, the “new normal” is anything but a normal that they’ve ever known. At our house, we’re all too familiar with having to entertain kids nearly 24/7. My preschooler typically goes to school from 8:30-1:30 daily and sometimes stays in after school care when both of us parents are working. Now that school is closed, having him home indefinitely with a combined energy of about 3 children in one, a schedule is going to be necessary!
Why not just wing it?
Winging it is how we usually do things. Weekends and after school, it’s down time and we’re all just enjoying each other and making it through the day spending a little extra time together. We’re pretty lax, we’re trying to avoid mini-meltdowns and Keith has been learning all day/week. However, in a time like now, to avoid everyone being stressed out, overwhelmed, upset and over it all— a schedule is your best friend.
The Schedule.
I created this schedule with my young children in mind, but believe it can work for any ages! Just alter anything that can be tweaked to fit your family better! Some days you may follow and some days you may not! It’s ok to not be structured all the time. On the left you will find a daily schedule to follow. In the center are some ideas for daily activity ideas. On the right is a cleaning schedule so that we may all come out of this with a clean house and happy hearts 🙂 At the Bottom are simple food ideas for when your mind is just stumped! I hope that you enjoy this schedule and that it makes things a little easier for you! Please feel free to share and tag me on Instagram at @rachelamyowens if you’re using and loving the schedule!
That’s a great idea. Mine are getting restless, and a schedule is the perfect thing to keep them involved.
Thank you! I hope you guys enjoy it =D
This is perfect Rach! Im going to share to the homeschool groups, since this is one of the best schedules I’ve seen!
